I joined British Gas to work on the conversion of Eastern Region data to the national TGB billing system being adopted by all the British Gas regions - the largest data migration ever with some 1.7 million customers. The role was of general support for the project team mostly in the areas of walkorder addresses and supply addresses and involved all areas from the specification and development of new and existing Cobol programs, to aiding and supporting the System test teams both in terms of fast response to system test faults/queries being raised and also in carrying out the system testing of other areas.
