It was originally intended that the Y10 Turbo would be loaded up with 'options' as standard features in order to win over affluent customers in search of something different. Sliding sunroof, central locking, electric windows including the rear quarter-lights, headlamp wipers, 4 function trip computer and an Alcantara (imitation suede) interior were planned as standard fitment.

The reality proved different. The sunroof, central locking and electric windows were optional rather than standard, and at a price of £730. The trip computer never made it although a solid state digital dashboard was also optional. The Alcantara was restricted to the door cards and dashboard covering, the seats themselves being covered in a chequered cloth in either black/grey or red/pink check with black vinyl edging.

Other features differentiating the Turbo from its lesser brethren were a deeper front bumper (often with built in spot lamps), a different rear bumper with built in spoiler along the bottom edge (presumably for keeping the rear down when reversing fast!), and dubious 'Turbo' striping along the sills.
